Weaver Meats Adds 'Twist' To Line With Intro Of 'Chubby Checker' Jerky

Painesville, Ohio - June 21, 2001 - A meeting with singer Chubby Checker, who had the world moving its collective hips in the early 1960s with "The Twist," paved the way for a tasty, new meat-snack line bearing the rock n' roll legend's name.

Weaver Meats has recently introduced to vending "Chubby Checker Twisted Stix" and "Chubby Checker Beef Jerky Hickory." The company manufactures several other "Chubby Checker" meat snacks for the retail market. "We met Chubby through a business associate and he noted he wanted his own line of product," explained Weaver Meats' David Weaver. "Chubby loves meat snacks. He tested all the products in his line and he picked the names."

"Chubby Checker Twisted Stix" - which has a "nice, mild flavor," according to Weaver - comes in a single-serve package that holds three to four pieces of the snack and weighs 1.55 ounces. "Chubby Checker Beef Jerky Hickory" has two pieces of flavorful cured meat and weighs .70-ounces.Both of the items are vending machine size.
